Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Running Hot ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Running Hot mobile application (the "App"). We've designed Running Hot to keep your data on your device — we don't have servers, we don't collect analytics, and we don't have user accounts.
1. Information we don't collect
Running Hot does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following on our servers:
- Your name, email address, or any account credentials (we don't have accounts)
- Your poker sessions, locations, stakes, results, notes, or photos
- Your device location, contacts, calendar, or any other system data
- Analytics, crash reports, behavioural tracking, advertising IDs, or device fingerprints
- Payment information (handled entirely by Apple)
2. Information stored on your device
All session data you enter into Running Hot — including session details, locations, stakes, notes, tags, and any imported CSV data — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your phone unless you explicitly export it (for example, sharing a CSV file via the Share Sheet) or back up your device to iCloud (which is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours).
3. Information processed by Apple
To provide in-app purchases (Pro Yearly subscription and Lifetime upgrade), Apple processes your transaction. We receive a confirmation that you have purchased Pro, but we do not receive your payment details, name, or email address. Apple's handling of this information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
4. Live Activities
If you enable Live Activities (the lock-screen session timer), Apple's ActivityKit framework displays the current session's elapsed time, location, and total invested directly from your device. This data is never sent off-device — Apple renders the activity locally.
5. Third-party services
Running Hot does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, crash reporters, or social platforms. The only third party involved is Apple, for distribution and payments.
6. Children's privacy
Running Hot is rated 17+ on the App Store and is not intended for users under 17. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you are under 17, please do not use the App.
7. Your rights
Because we don't collect or store your personal information, there's no data on our end for you to access, correct, or delete. To delete the data stored on your device, you can either delete individual sessions inside the App or uninstall the App entirely (which removes all local data).
Under the Australian Privacy Principles (set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)), you have rights to access and correct personal information held about you. As stated above, we don't hold any personal information about you, but if you believe otherwise, please contact us using the details below.
8. International users
Running Hot is operated from Australia. If you use the App from outside Australia, your data still stays on your device. Australian privacy law applies to our handling of any information.
9. Data security
Your data is protected by your device's built-in security — passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, and Apple's data-protection encryption. Because we don't store your data on our servers, there is no central database for an attacker to compromise.
10. Changes to this policy
If we update this Privacy Policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top and post the new version at this URL. Material changes that affect how your data is handled will be communicated through an in-App notice on the next launch after the change.
